HAFTA/ WANNA

The similarities I see between my life during high school and after is that I will need to continue during work outside of school or at my job. I will need to be responsible for my work at all times. The differences are that I see is that I’m not going to see my life the same way I do right now. I will become more independent and organized both in my life and working environment. I don’t see a big differences because I feel like I am responsible for my assignment and I will still be responsible later on. The only great change will be that I won’t think the same way. People will not magically transform they day after their graduation, they will take their current habits of mind/word/deed into their next set of daily activities because life will not really hit them until a couple years after they graduate. Then they will look back at life and see everything they did differently or even how they thought differently.

Brave New World Theme

From reading the book Brave New World the theme for me is loneliness. In the beginning we are introduced to Bernard, when we meet him he feels like he doesn’t fit in. He seems to be different from others and thinks differently than the people from the World State. People in the World State take soma and do sexual things in order to please themselves and others because they feel empty inside. John also feels out of place when he arrives to the World State that he wants to leave to the island.

Response to “Dream Within a Dream”

What I understand from the poem “Dream Within a Dream” is that it seems hard to understand what is a dream and what it real life. It is also really hard to remember what your dream was about even after you just woke up. No matter how had you try to remember it the less you seem to know what you were dreaming about and even the most basic details about it. The author also want to show how he would like to hold on to them for a long period of time so he can remember at least the good things in life, even if that comes from just a dream.
