The “truth” GATSBY tells Nick is that he is the son of some wealthy people from Middle West and they are all dead note. He was educated in Oxford. When his family died he got into a good deal of money. When the war came he felt a great relief and he tried to die. When he said Little Montenegro his faces lite up. Jorden tells Nick about Daisty. Daisy was two years older than her and was very popular. There was an incident with GATSBY, it was 1917 Jorden didn’t really see Daisy often. Rumors were spread about her that she had backed her bags to go to New York as said good-bye to a soldier, who was going overseas. So then she stopped playing around with the soldiers. By autumn she was happy again. She then was going to marry Tom in June, Jorden walked to her room and found Daisy lying on her bed. Daisy said “... I’d never seen a girl like that before.” and changed her mind on getting married then the next day she married Tom. GATSBY bought Daisy a house so she could be just across the bay. From what I read both GATSBY and Jorden are telling Nick the truth, because they both give good details about what happened and they aren’t exaggerating about the events that occurred.
What I understand from the poem “Dream Within a Dream” is that it seems hard to understand what is a dream and what it real life. It is also really hard to remember what your dream was about even after you just woke up. No matter how had you try to remember it the less you seem to know what you were dreaming about and even the most basic details about it. The author also want to show how he would like to hold on to them for a long period of time so he can remember at least the good things in life, even if that comes from just a dream.
